Video: Darwin Aerochute Dry Season Fly.
BlackCockatoo replied to BlackCockatoo's topic in Aviation Videos
I took mate of mine for a flight around Humptydoo one dry season afternoon and he was kind enough to shoot some video of the flight. I think he did a great job filming -

Thank you guys I appreciate the warm welcome it’s nice to find some likeminded people that are interested in the same sort of things we are a bit isolated up here in the NT Jabiru7252 I can assure you I am up and down quiet regularly as my fuel usually only last about an hour but it brings back a painful memory of when I was spotting for a bunch of shooters on a cold Dry season day miles from anywhere I could safely land and I had been flying for about 2 hours (using a additional fuel tank strapped into the passenger’s seat) when nature called in a big way, it was one of the most painful flights I have ever made LOL

Flying in the Kimberley's
BlackCockatoo replied to BlackCockatoo's topic in Powered Chutes etc Usergroup
Thanks Guys, I suppose i do put alot of trust in my Engine but as the chute doesn’t go that fast I’m not too worried about an engine out i always carry an epirb and a satellite phone just in case but you are wright Cosmic if I land in some of the swamps I fly over the crocks would have me shitting myself -
So far I have clocked up about 140 hours in it and I must say ive thoroughly enjoyed most of it the Aerochute has never let me down, just my judgement at times

Took my aerochute on a trip to the Kimberley’s a couple of weeks ago Had an awesome time flying around the escarpment, afternoon flights were a bit windy and gusty so I had to keep my distance and altitude in check but the morning flights were a dream. Had a good hay paddock to take off from at the Vic River Roadhouse and some unbelievable salt flats in Wyndhum that stretched for miles and were so smooth and I was able to drive around on the ground doing figure 8’s and turning circles. El Questro was another story lol it had an air strip with a fairly constant crosswind so I had to pick my moment and a first time pax that was scared shitless of heights but once I was in the air the scenery was breathtaking and one I will never forget i have posted a movie on youtube if your interested the link is below if it dosent work try copy and past on your browser
