  1. G'day Mick I have very long leash '.........as such 'er in doors lets me do pretty much what I want:thumb up: well mostly anyway.........I just don't get the time to fly models......when the WX is good I tend to go fly real stuff (Moorabbin is 3 mins drive from me) and now looking at doing my PPL it's time to stop spending on models and focus on another avenue to haemorrhage $$$. The bride does not like flying in "little toys" as she calls the Jab........but has been up gliding with me and certainly no interest in models so it works pretty well
  2. G'day Mick..........funny you say that as I often see the opposite.....lots of models I would like to buy seem to be FNQ The Big Stang is a great flyer.........with a brand new 3W80 it really hauls ar$e. I have a guy interested in the Mustang but only if I'll sell my Spitfire as well..............torn between loves...........$$$ for flying or the Spitfire (which I rarely fly anymore)
  3. Gday Mick.........long time no "type" ! yep that is my Tempest for sale and I have my 100"Mustang on RCgtrader as well......... and yes now all my time and $$$ goes into Jab and Foxbat flying. Here's a pic of my P51 ............3W80 for motivation 100"span Custom retracts seqeencing gear doors, rivets, panel lines etc etc cheers
  4. Hi Guys My 96" (scale 1:4.5) HD Spitfire MkVb finished in 402 sqd markings Power by 3W 55cc with retracts flaps panel lines and thousands of rivets F/G fuselage, foam core wing........MTOW 20 kgs
  5. I'll check with my CFI...........but if that is the case then I would suggest it is local YMMB rules due to Class D airspace, traffic congestion, tower proceedures etc. cheers Al.
  6. You can't fly solo outside of the circuit until the RAA certificate flight test is passed and you need 10 hours solo for a passenger endo, hence I have clocked up 10 hrs solo in the circuit whilst I await my flight test, I can then do my RAA certificate tests and passenger endo at the same time. (Which has been postponed numerous times over the past 6 weeks due to WX or availablity of the CFI) cheers Al.
  7. I've been flying with SOAR at Moorabbin for the last six months, I pay $199 p/h dual and $135 solo in a Jab 160D. I chose to fly at YMMB as I'm only 5 min drive away and the little extra cost is outweighed by the close proximity (no travel time or fuel costs to drive) plus I get invaluable CTA experience ...........and I can squeeze in short notice flights. (I ussually get a call if there are any last minute cancellations) I'm just waiting on my final RAA Cert test with 35 hours dual and 10 hours solo circ time in the book. cheers Alan
  8. G'day Guys Just a quick note to say hello, I've been training in a Jab 160C out of YMMB for the past six months and almost ready for the final solo check flight. Still having a few issues with X wind landings (X wind from the right side is fine.....X wind from the left has me stuffed......more practice required). Anyway....now getting some stick time in the A22LS .....what a hoot that is to fly ! cheers Alan
