  1. You might be thinking of Bunyan Airstrip, Monaro highway, Bunyan, about 12 km by road north of Cooma. It's the home of Canberra Gliding Club, with lots of grass strips, visible from the highway with signage.
  2. I assumed that showing it at Aero would have coincided with Press Releases, videos, etc. I also wonder if the 915 might fit, probably has too much power!
  3. Thanks for posting. I've been searching the Aero & ICP site for more info, but nothing that I can find. Has anyone else got any further info?
  4. I asked Jabiru if they could fit a 4-point seat harness to a J230D, rather than the lap sash type that seems to be their standard. Their response was NO. Has anyone fitted a 4-point? Is it even possible? I presume that even if it's possible for a 24 reg, it would require an LOA from Jabiru. Am I worrying about nothing? Do owners find the lap sash adequate? Thanks,
  5. The setup is only suitable for your home hangar, not transportable in an LSA. It would only work with the containers in the system, certainly not collapsible bladders. I have two 25 litre containers, part of the system, that I take to the airport on my ute. I fill from the back of the ute, so I can observe while pumping.
  6. Have a look at this; https://flofast.com.au/shop-systems.html The pump is very high capacity & is reversible, so you can pump out & in. I've had a system for a couple of years, works well. The people at Flowfast are also great to deal with. Expensive but a really easy solution for an ageing aviator.
  7. Peter Gillespie told me that the adjustable model seat gives less leg room than the fixed model seat. If you have a fixed model you can pack it out if you're shorter. The mounting assy of the adjustable model makes the rear-most position further forward than the fixed model. Hope that's understandable!
  8. It's a Savannah S that I'm looking at. My interest is in the quality of support from Edge in Norway, parts, responses to questions, warranty available. I'm trying to assess the longer term differences between owning a Edge/Rotax vs a 912 Rotax injected or a 914 Rotax
  9. Anyone operating a Rotax 912ULS with the Edge Performance Big Bore & EFI conversion? I'm interested to hear about your experiences, good & bad, please.
  10. Thanks for all the responses. I should have made my original post clearer. I'm considering buying Savannah. If I buy a new factory built model, then I have a choice of manual or electric flaps. My question relates to just how quick, or slow, Sav electric flaps are to operate. There are many good points raised in the responses so far, including asymmetric failure, low ing ground effect etc, my immediate concern is the speed of response of electric flaps on a Sav S.
  11. I'm trying to make the choice between manual & electric flaps. I've done about 12 hours in a Sav with manual flaps & still found the control awkward, even after that experience. Peter Gillespie gave me a further demo at AUSFLY recently, I'm still hesitant. I understand the desirability of instant flaps at low levels, as available with manual operation. My question is to those who have electric flaps - just how quick, or slow, are they to respond? All comments, from manual or electric owners welcome!
  12. I've been looking for a while also. XL or S, injected a bonus. Be glad to hear from anyone with a lead.
  13. Another name I thought of, a bit further away is Mark Kyle at Caboolture. The Aero Club ther might have contact info
  14. Bill Grieve at Aeroskills in Beerwah is a good place to start
  15. In doing my research I didn't come across this, but keen to know if it's an issue. I've been forced to use Avgas in some circumstances recently so wanted to try & reduce the impact by using Decalin. Let us all know if you find anything further please, Thanks
