  1. I use this map a lot. Not sure if it is still being updated though. Airstrips near Pub and Food
  2. Thanks Ian. I had a feeling it was due to a combining of pilot supplies and other items. As others have said, it might be better to change the "Female pilots" tab to "Female items" or similar, and add a "Male items" tab. But in this day and age I don't think we need to separate the sexes; just group by categories instead (sorry, it's the ex-librarian in me coming out). :-) BTW, I tried to edit my earlier post but couldn't, to add that the Clear Prop site is great and the prices are excellent, so keep up the great work in that regard.
  3. Hi all. I was browsing through the online store (http://Http://www.clearprop.com.au) and I noticed a separate tab for "Female pilots". I was intrigued hoping to find gifts or cool stuff specifically for women who fly, but what I found was mainly makeup and beauty products! I was more than a little offended - it made me feel like the only thing female pilots are good for is to look "pretty". (I hear you snickering and you should be ashamed!) I then looked at the other pages and saw under the "Pilot" tab is generic flying stuff (like flight bags and safety equipment) as well as men's products (like men's clothes and shavers). So does this mean "female pilots" are different to so-called "pilots" and they (we) don't need all that other serious flying stuff? If I had known that I would have worn a lot more makeup and skimpier clothes when I went for my flying tests! But seriously, are we still living in the 1960's??? What do others think? I'm hoping there's a perfectly reasonable explanation but I can't think of one at the moment. <sigh> PS. I sent an email to the site voicing my concerns but haven't heard anything back yet.

  9. So sad. And so long for his family to have to wait for the news. Thoughts are with family and friends. Robyn and Bob

  11. Just got back yesterday from a 2 week holiday where we flew down to Warrnambool via Narromine to visit relatives, then caught a train to Melbourne to do some sightseeing and to check out the Avalon Airshow. We were hoping to fly back via the coast but the weather wasn't suitable, so we returned via Narromine again. Had an awesome time. If you missed the Airshow, here's some highlights.
  12. Hi Bob. Both fixed cameras were Drift's. One is an older HD170 and the other is a newer Ghost. Both have remote controls so I was kept busy turning both cameras on and off when there was something good to see, as well as using a handheld occasionally, as well as navigating. I wouldn't say it was a very relaxing trip. :-) Next time I'm just going to let the cameras record and hope they don't run out of space.
  13. Hi all. Here's the highlights from our recent trip from Watts Bridge to Great Keppel Island. Hope you enjoy it.
  14. Bob (@RetiredRacer ) and I were disappointed we couldn't make it in our RV9A. I had to stay home to finish Bob's tax (what fun!), and Bob drove all the way to the hangar on Saturday night (75 mins) only to be fogged in next morning till 10:30am. He had to be back home by lunch so had to abandon the plan. Oh well. I'm sure we'll catch up with everyone at the Watts Bridge fly-in at the end of the month. [shameless plug] :-)
