  1. If you have VR headset and Computer with a decent GPU to drive it ( I have an HP Reverb G2 driven by an RTX 3080Ti) and it is p[ossible to purchase modules thatg allow walk around inspections!
  2. Yeah and they are now screwing local Airborne customers that need spares by telling them 'sorry no help here'! time to spread the word to their potential gyro customers that this is not a manufacturer/dealer that you want to do business with!
  3. Last I - or anyone - heard they were moving their manufacturing capability offshore, their website is still up so I will assume that they are still selling aircraft. Is that the case?
  4. That is an option, however I want to be able to take the missus flying with me, so a two place kite is required. The Nano lite would be easy to get around as I have a 4wd ute so it would be easy to get in and out of that.
  5. I have a strange link to the Sling Aircraft. One of my instructors - Steve Roe - had a hand in the design of the sling back in the early 00's
  6. Good Morning, So where are the trike pilots near Sydney hangaring or storing their weight shift microlights? I would like to return to the pasttime of low slow flying in a weight shift microlight but where to keep said aircraft seems to be quite a problem in the Sydney area.
  7. I can understand the need to regulate commercial drone operations and ensure that commercial drone operators are aware of the safe operating requirements for their usually substantial drones, but who are CASA kidding with a requirement to register any drone over 250 grams in size?

Len, sorry for the delay, have only just spotted your question. I bought my Quik from the UK factory, who arranged the shipping through AFI UK ltd (Manchester Airport). We then used Bollinger Shipping Agency to collect from customs in Sydney. All went well apart from the Airline (Etihad) offloading my trike in the Middle East for three days without telling me. Hope this helps. Kev
  9. Good Afternoon Len I am another South African now living in Sydney, Australia. I started flying Microlights about 14 years ago in South Africa but never completed my MPL due to various reasons I would like to come up to Sommersby airfield at some point and have a look at the setup are you out there on weekends? I look forward to hearing from you regards Len Strydom

Hello Kev, A long time ago (March 2008 to be precise) You answered a thread that I started regarding importing weighshift microlights to Australia Would you mind giving me your experience with this and who you used to ship the aircraft over from the UK best regards Len Strydom
  11. "Anway, who needs economy - it's aviation, and everybody knows we're all rich! cheers Riley" Hahahaa Yes we have all made our '2 Mil'
  12. Thanks Bob, Good useful information that! Sorry for the Thread Hijack Robert!
