Bruce Tuncks
I would take the notes attached to Hongie's post with a grain of salt. Try reading Mike Busch's books and you will discover that only RAAus and GA still cling to the discredited idea of mandatory dismantling-type inspections. Counter-intuitive? You bet. The airlines have long since moved to Reliability Centered Maintenance, which is quite different.
Hongie
I agree... but. If you are hiring a machine out, I doubt you can run any sort of maintenance, except that which the OEM and the regulator sets
Country Flyer
Well just an add on... I was at Moorabin on Thursday. The landing and taxi was great....BUT we spent 23 minutes taxing and at a holding point until we got clearance.... wow.
Yenn
Last time I was at Moorabbin there was so little traffic I began to wonder if it was an airport..
danny_galaga
God my experience was similar to the OPs friend. I learnt in Darwin originally and you could easily waste 15inutrs taxiing there due to it being international AND military. Anyone asks me about learning to fly I tell Them go RA AUS and a small field
