red750
I must say they do look very much alike, but I can't find any reference mentioning any link between them. The only thing is they are both designed in France and one comment on the type in my photo did say that at least 8 had been built.

red750
It's certainly a racer. I can't find much about it other than it has been restored and on permanent loan to an aviation museum. There are only a couple of photos on Google images.

Garfly
Yes, also known as the Saab MFI-15 Safari and the MFI-17 Supporter. The Danish military version was known as the T-17 (or rather is so known ... since it's still in use as a trainer and used by the Royal Danish Airforce "Baby Blue" display team). I must admit I only came by this impressive knowledge by watching parts of this video of the 2019 RAF Cosford Air Show. The video is a full record of a live stream (6.5 hours!!) but the Danish T17 team can be seen in action starting from 2:28:00 for about 10 minutes. red750
Again, someone stirred the pot and woke this thread up so I'll continue the game. The red and white racer is a 1931 Mercury S-1 Racer (on loan from Mercury Aircraft to the Glenn H. Curtiss Aviation Museum, Hammondsport, NY .) The next one is named after its designer. It may have been influenced by one or more other designs, but there is no reference to such in its profile.

LOL ... reminds me of the old joke "When I was young I'd pray to God that some day I'd be somebody. Now, looking back, I realise I should have been more specific."
