For all your bleating, you forget that the PM banned all flights from and through China early on, and was one of the first Leaders, along with the British PM, to do so, late Jan starting Feb 1st. It was those actions that is the reason why Britain and Australia's numbers are still quite low.

My daughter phoned a marriage celebrant today (she is a friend) during the talk my daughter said the people limit suited perfect as when they set a date a while ago her partners family was excited and 70 extras on there side self invited themselves. People my daughter and her partner do not really know. It'll suit my budget having to pick up the drinks bill. The celebrant thought the booking inquiry was good as she had been getting calls from disappointed bookings due to the reduced. This is a true story. If it actually happens some of the drinks will be Corona's.

I just watched Seven National News for today (26/3/20), as far as I can see NO ONE in Australia other than some handfuls are taking this seriously.

Just one of a hundred examples I gasped at, Queensland Police checking cars at the NSW Border no face masks on, leaning on people's car doors into their open windows, begeezus what is wrong with you lot? Idiot cop leans on doors, breathes in or touches germs, then transfers it to the hundreds of next cars they stop, besides the Cop being infected.

Every News Reader/reporter, not one with a face mask on, not one person I saw on the streets, again I point out Police specifically talking to people in the streets, who are prime transferer's.

Not one single Minister or other Leaders, and clearly not the PM.

Every single person you saw on TV in China during this had a mask on, from the PM, the Ministers, the News Readers (yes, reading the news with masks on), the Reporters, every single person on the streets being interviewed, it's called "Leading by Example".

I think its closer to 30% in Australia who just can't comprehend; you only have to look at this site with the people who think we are talking about something like the flu, and ridicule anyone trying to help them.

The reason no one had masks was that we ran out before the real crisis hit.

Health workers (nurses and doctors) have been wearing the same masks and clothes for multiple shifts, and the union had started to step in when the first shipment arrived, but that is just going to emergency workers.

I can get container loads of masks to anybody who wants them, 3 suppliers, zero profiteering.

Masks are useful for keeping others safe when you yourself have a cough or sneeze. If you're healthy, they're a waste of resources. Many people of Asian extraction wear them here, but then again they did so before the virus too. Had to laugh today - one bloke had one on in Coles then as soon as he's in the car park, pulls it down and lights a ciggy.

Most shops now have lines taped on the floor 1.5m apart for people to queue at. No restaurants or cafes doing sit down, take away only. They also have a notice on the door about how many people are allowed inside.

Can't speak for others but my hands have never been so clean. Following WHO standards of hand washing, not touching hard surfaces that others touch, I even use a paper towel to open the fridge at work.

If you really think China has stopped it in it's tracks, and Sth Korea greatly 'flattening the curve' wasn't in some part to EVERYBODY wearing masks, then glad you don't live in a busy city area to put others at risk with your thinking.

Health professionals are still saying if you are healthy a Mask is of little use. If someone coughs at you there are gaps where airborne particles can get through and they do not cover all of your face anyway. For those without the disease the benefit is psychological both for the wearer and the person(s) you are next to. If you have the diseases (you should be isolated) or just any sort of sore throat, cough etc you definitely should wear a mask. Face Masks not recommended for healthy individuals

In Japan is is normal practice for anyone with a cold or flu to wear a mask as a matter of courtesy, and probably the same for China.

In China the poliy was to wear them to optimise the immune system for when the virus hit, and that has worked well.

We didn't have the masks, so we didn't have the option.

Queensland Council elections are still going ahead tomorrow. WTF? That is just as smart as all the cops leaning into cars on the border telling people they can't come. Their message "Voters are responsible for their own safety". They are also saying "Bring your own pencil". How many will do that? QLD Health say it will be safer than going to the Supermarket, but going to the Supermarket is not compulsory. When asked if the election could be postponed they have said it is too late to postpone them now. What utter BS.
