turboplanner
I was online schooling my grandson today and we took a look at Area 51 and the U2 and Oxcart aircraft used there by the CIA U2 Take off and Landing Camera car is a Pontiac G8 made in Australia, gets some comment at around 2:43 Frank Murray describes the CIA Oxcart, forerunner to the SR71 Blackbird Nothing like hearing the facts from someone who was directly involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGdxpqqsHl8

old man emu
Notice that while the aircraft is standing still, the wingtips droop. As it gains speed, the wingtips rise, making the wing straight. That happens with most long, cantilevered wings, but usually is not as noticeable as in this aircraft.
yampy
The U2 is a regular visitor to RAF Fairford in the UK , where it often spends some time on detachment . There can often be a number of them there at any time .
facthunter
it's showing unavailable except through U tube. I got the fist vid. Apparently they are extremely difficult to control directionally on the ground. The rudder was very active during the landing ground run.. The high aspect wing, (it's really built like glider) HAS to flex. Some of the giant freight planes bend more. It's the fuel load they carry there as well..
