Community Calendar

Grafton Aero Club is holding its  Wings and Wheels Open day this year at South Grafton Aerodrome (YSGR) on Sunday 20 June 2021 after having been cancelled last year due to Covid-19. Times are from around 10:00am till 2:00pm. The event is sponsored by Clarence Valley Council and is free for all exhibitors and visitors. We do collect donations for a local Charity, and this year it is the Oncology Dept of the Grafton Base Hospital.

There are all sorts of motor vehicles from vintage, classic, sports, touring, hot rods, racing cars, motorcycles, Tractors, stationary engines and other community organisations displaying their wares. There will be Warbird adventure flights, helicopter joy flights and Trial Introductory Flights available and various aircraft on display.

All aircraft are welcome to fly in. Food and drinks are available. No landing fees and a warm welcome guaranteed. There is bunkhouse accommodation available if required.

Details can be found on the club website graftonaeroclub.com/wings-and-wheels.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Ph 0429 344 158 or email to [email protected].

In case you have forgotten & would like somewhere to fly to on Sunday come to South Grafton for a coffee, bacon & egg roll or sanger sambo. Lots of cars and hopefully lots of aircraft. The weather looks good (not so further south) & the aerodrome is in top condition. If things don't look that flash for the trip home you can always stay in our bunkhouse.

The weather was partly cloudy but the wind above 2000 was pretty brisk and rough according to the dozen or so who were brave enough to turn up. Even in the food court it kept blowing the BBQs out. We had a great day though with lots of cars aircraft & people.
