On a follow on from that one about "will I live to see 80" post it reminds me of one similar - but different.

A middle age bloke goes to the doctor and gets a checkup.

He explains that he wants to live to 100.

The doctor thinks a bit and then starts asking him questions:

"Do you smoke?"

"Now and then." was the reply.

"Do you drink alchahol?"

"At parties with friends."

"When you are outside do you cover up with sun-screen or cloths?"

"Not really."

"How often do you walk?"

"Not much."

And the questions continued and after a few more the doctor stopped. He wrote things down and thought again.

"Are you sure you want to live to 100?" He asked his patient.

"Yes, I am sure."

"Ok, you will have to change a bit of your lifestyle. No drinking. No smoking - NONE!, you will have to get more excercise daily. Walk about 1 hour a day briskly. When in the sun, you will have to cover yourself - slip, slop, slap. Get up early in the morning, go to bed early. Eat good meals."

And the list of instructions went on.

Finally the person asked the doctor, "So if I do all these things, will I live to 100?"

The doctor looks back at him squarely, "No, but it will feel like it."
