Spin Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield - Welcome Quick reminder that this is coming up on Saturday. I went last year and had a great day, lots of interesting aircraft and best of all, being non ASIC, you can get up close to have a look at them. See you out there.
XP503 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Hey Spin, might be flying up with Dave in the Cessna if he is not too busy on Sat.
Spin Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Sounds good David, I'll keep an eye open for you guys. He should feel right at home, lots of aircraft with the little wheel in the right place out there. Cheers Carl
Spin Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 Ah well, after being teased by the weather gods all the week, it's looking promising for tomorrow - early fog, clearing to a fine day, light S winds. Similar to last year in fact, although I wouldn't mind if the temperature peaks a little lower!
Spin Posted May 22, 2010 Author Posted May 22, 2010 The weatherguessers were spot on, I arrived shortly after 9 and there were a few aircraft about, arriving from all sorts of unusual directions due to the low cloud, however this quickly burnt off and it turned into a very pleasant day. Good turnout I thought, saw a few of the Boonah mob about and a few different aircraft too. Hornet:thumb_up:. Well done to the Watts Bridge members, a very pleasant day and my bacon and egg sanger did the inner man no end of good. I'm having intermittent speed issues on my connection, so I'm not going to try and load the photos all over again - have posted a few on AvCom • View topic - Seen in Australia
Tomo Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Great work Spin, sorry I could make it over - was hoping too, but things just got outa hand over here, and ran out of time! Neil (ballpoint) and Relfy were there apparently, shame I missed out on it! Oh well, there's always Monto...
Spin Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 Cheers Tomo, as you say there is always Monto - really looking forward to that. Going to have to arrange something about a cap, would have liked to say hi to the others; I lost track of things, did we ever finalise a design and getting your username stitched on? Last I saw of that thread it was getting highly involved with bumper stickers, not exactly something I could attach to my noggin at airshows/flyins.;)
Ballpoint 246niner Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hey Spin, Tomo- yep great day, the committee were very happy with turnout. It's a great spot and deserves our support. People were asking bout you Tomo, but I thought you were busy. I had student commitments early but this was OK with the early fog. Am going to Monto on Sat, may leave friday and back Sat pm or early Sunday morning. Be good to see u both. Cheers Ballpoint,
Spin Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Likewise Neil, look forward to catching up. Cheers Carl
HEON Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Food was good as well. Best steak sanger I've had at a fly in. Hats off to the people involved...had your ducks lined up and flying streight!
