Guest Mym Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 :clap:Hi everyone, I am writing a story for a magazine on my dad's life as an aerobatic pilot. Jim flew out of Bankstown and bought the second Pitts Special into Australia in 1973 after flying it solo across the US to California. Dad loved flying so much, it truly was his life's passion and if you have any recollections of dad, I would love to hear from you. People who remember him will know he wasn't shy and loved to promote flying - and this is what I would love capture, any anecdotes would be so wonderful to get down, not only for this article, but for his family. Any information on VH-PAS and VH-CVD would be great too. Kind Regards, Lisa Wright (nee Scott, the youngest of Jim's five children)
Tomo Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 G'day and Welcome Mym (Lisa), it's great to have you. Fantastic of you to right up about your dad, a great idea. I'll definitely like hearing more about it once you do. Unfortunately my vintage doesn't go back as far as that, so I haven't any idea on it... but I'm sure there'll be some on here that may... so you never know. Wonder if we're related.... My surname is Scott also. Take care Ps. Did he pass on the flying bug to any of his children? do you fly?
Guest Mym Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Ah, I spent my childhood at air shows and doing aerobatics with Dad. I was flying at a very young age. But no, I don't fly now.
