metanoia Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Hi All, Have a look at this article about the Pacific Aerospace P-750. The second video gives you an idea of its short field capabilities - which are incredible: FlightGlobal article on p-750
Tomo Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I've worked on one of these, (A Cresco actually, which is a tad smaller - but still 750hp) helped replace the fuel pump. I then got to go for a fly in it. It is incredible, was only the two of us, and empty at the back (no seats either). So take off was just under vertical!! (well so it felt!) A mate of mine has one up in PNG also, great for climbing places... but pretty ordinary enroute!
Guest davidh10 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Metanoia; I have to agree. I was lucky enough to be taken for a short ride in one not so long back, and treated to a demonstration of its capabilities. Only five on board. Yes, with no seats you have to brace for the takeoff and climb. It is rated at over 1,000' per minute climb at sea level and MTOW (17 people). Definitely a very nice aircraft.
Guest Howard Hughes Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I once saw a Cresco fly backwards, in 45+ knot headwind!:ah_oh:
