Guest davidh10 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 I was just reading an article in CASA Flightsafety (Dec-09) [was included in the goodies from a June 3 changes seminar]. In an article on situational awareness, this quote from Mike Goulian, one of the Red Bull Air Race series pilots.. "I watch what I eat, watch how I sleep, watch what I drink; I don't drink any caffeine during the race week...". Anyone spot the oxymoron?
facthunter Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 guessing.. The sleep bit I suppose. I like oxymorons like military intelligence or 'honest lawyer". Nev
Guest davidh10 Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 The sleep bit I suppose. I like oxymorons like military intelligence or 'honest lawyer". Nev Actually more along the lines of the statement being contrary to the primary sponsor's marketing message:hittinghead:
facthunter Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 There you are! I'm so far out of that scene that I didn't realise that Red Bull was full of caffeine. No room for Honesty? Not really. Nev
Tomo Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I'm so far out of that scene that I didn't realise that Red Bull was full of caffeine. No room for Honesty? Not really. Nev Don't worry Nev, I was of the same line of thought as you, till you mentioned Red Bull.....
Guest Redair Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I don't drink any caffeine during the race week...[/i]".Anyone spot the oxymoron? Moron? That's a bit harsh isn't it? I figure he wouldn't want to be drinking anything... have you seen how fast they turn? It would have been all over the canopy! Now as for the guy from Brazil, going into the drink.... I guess he had a close shave! There's a joke in there somewhere!! Redair.
rick-p Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 The sleep bit I suppose. I like oxymorons like military intelligence or 'honest lawyer". Nev Hey Nev that comment of your's is only applicable to sand groppers, mexicans and cockroachs it has no application north of the border as it is a fact and even has judicial notice that the legal men in the sunshine state are as honest as the day is long and are for certain not morons as for being able to weld I don't know about that. :hittinghead:
facthunter Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 generalisations. rick-p generalisations are always unfair to people like you and me . They are just valid for most occasions. regards Mate. Nev
