horsefeathers Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I dont care how pretty it is - the sound on the low pass - the SOUND ------- aaaaaaaaaaaa you can keep your rotax and Jabiru engines - for true flying satisfaction give me a jet engine sound any day... (maybe there is a way to retrofit a noise generator to a rotax exhaust)
Exadios Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 Jet powered glider Thanks. I take it that he uses the non retractable engine as a sustainer. I wonder what the L/D is.
dunlopdangler Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Ah...takes me back to the caproni 21SJ that "ace" brought out to Australia in the 1990's and later Mike Burns converting a 21 into the jet model. From memory there was only seven "original" 21SJs built in the factory before Bell-Agusta purchased Caproni and ceased production. Out of the seven, "Ace" owned three of them. Wonder whatever happened to them. i_dunno
lbarnes Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 One of them had been living in its trailer under a tree in a paddock near Mullumbimby up until recently. One of the nearby residents said that it had been purchased by a group at Casino.
dunlopdangler Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Well that would have been one of the three...wonder what happened to the other two and "Ace"
dunlopdangler Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 He has, but not one of the factory seven..Mike did a really good job converting a S21 to the jet version though..
