sseeker Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 This is video of my first training area solo in the Jabiru J160C over Bindoon. I went approx. 05nm out and practiced some stalls (clean, flaps, power on and approach config - however only clean is uploaded), steep truns & side slips. I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed flying it :). http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/vbtube_show.php?do=tube&tubeid=462&name=first-training-area-solo-yboo-j160c#watch
sseeker Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Hey congrats buddy,Looks like you had some fun, first time out by yourself in the training area is a hoot, a little bit of apprehension and a lot of excitement, well done and keep it up. Bindoon looks like a little aeronautical haven, my kind of an airstrip ... a long paddock. Was that a slight tail wind I saw on the windsock as you were coming in? Looks like a good video setup you have there, it doesn't distort the prop rotation, what is the set up, I am interested because I have seen many and want to set one up myself soon. David Hi David, I explained my setup here: http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/video-clips-forum/98355-circuit-compilation.html#post201826 - Bindoon was VERY busy yesterday, I couldn't believe how many aircraft were flying around, it was a little like Jandakot! Was a crosswind, hence the crap landing. Bindoon's a great place, the strip is well maintained, the people are great & I love flying there. -Andrew Looks great mate! Keep it up  Thanks mate  -Andrew

sseeker Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Hi BlackRod, Yeah most people just fly the perimeter but I only had 30 minutes to go solo in, so I did 20minutes in the training area and 2 circuits at the aerodrome. I have around 30 hours dual training and still no pilot cert, my instructor is pretty confident in my ability to do 'upper aerial work' solo. Just a matter of building some solo time now. -Andrew
