Guest notifier888 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I have a Sadler Vampire with pull start on the rotax 447 and am looking for some info on fitting electric start to it. Anyone with knowledge of this aircraft knows the mounting problem so either some drawings or even better someone may already have one lying around
Deskpilot Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi 888, can't help you with your quest but you can help me. I've heard of Brooklands Park but can't place it. I've never seen a Vampire flying in these parts so when do you get airborne?
ayavner Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I so want a saddler vampiure http://www.ebay.com/itm/saddler-vampire-/261130689568?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 yeah so its a couple years late, but here it is!! so ugly only a mother could love it, but for that reason too damn cool for words..
ayavner Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Yeah very smart lookin' little plane - so what about the one in the link, its at Bendigo, is that far from where you are? It would HAVE to have a new paint job, and they aren't saying if its airworthy or what it would take to get registered. What do you think of the price?
Sapphire Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 What are you going to do when they run out of parts for he rotax?
ayavner Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 not sure that'll affect me asking hypothetical question on an internet forum But surely there's something that could be retrofitted if the motivation is there?
shags_j Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 not sure that'll affect me asking hypothetical question on an internet forum But surely there's something that could be retrofitted if the motivation is there? That's why this forum is here. For questions like this.

skeptic36 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I want someone to build a 912 powered 2 seater. I can see a lot of advantages for an aircraft like that. I know a few have attempted it but haven't had the resources to bring it to fruition. Regards Bill
ExJourno Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 As it happens, there is a chap down south who is having a shot at making a Saddler Vampire 2-seater. It will be GA if he makes it. He also still sells the single seat ones, I believe. http://www.aerov.com.au/ Call him up and have a chat, like I did when I was looking at the previously advertised one of these (he helped me realise I wouldn't fit in the single seater).

ayavner Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I emailed the people at aerov.com.au, will update with any news on when a kit or factory built might be available.

XAIRVTW Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 They are gorgeous. I still want one. Shags the Gentlmens name who owns the rights to the Vampire is Ken Garland he is based at Wollongong you can find his contact details through the SAAA he runs all the maintenance courses for the SAAA. Cheers
ExJourno Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Why go chasing through the SAAA? The contacts for him are on his AeroV website...
XAIRVTW Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 There you go!! Why go chasing through the SAAA? The contacts for him are on his AeroV website...
kittyhawk Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Complex the Vampire maybee more complex than it need be.And a bit over priced i think,I would say future production of this aircraft is unlikely.
Galpin Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If you go to the site below (bydanjohnson.com) you will see a two seat Vampire. Unfortunately, the company only got so far and is now looking for a new owner. http://www.bydanjohnson.com/index.cfm?b=6&m=5&id=22
