Hi.

Morgan Aeroworks is an Australian aircraft kit manufacturer specialising in high performance and highly affordable sports aircraft. We pride ourselves on being able to offer the Australian aviation industry a range of aircraft that are both designed and manufactured in Australia. All of our aircraft can be purchased in kit form or as a completed aircraft, ready to fly away!

Our aircraft include the single-seat Super Diamond, the 2-seat Cheetah Mk2 and Sierra 100 models, and the 2+2 Cougar.

We are happy to support this forum, and to provide direct communication channel between you and the factory.

Feel free to post your questions here, and we'll get back to you.

Hi Garry,

Welcome aboard, I intend coming to worry you down at the factory and have a closer look at that Cougar of yours, one of these fine days. As you probably know, there are a number of ardent Morgan Aeroworks supporters on the site and we have been having a little debate of late about various figures claimed for your aircraft. Some pretty wild figures have been bandied about, like 22kts stall for the Sierra. I was one of those doubting Thomases who find that a little difficult to believe, given that they are known to have a top end well in excess of 100kts with a 6 cyl Jabiru up front and suggested that although the asi may be reading low 20s, that is down to position error? Have you done a full series of tests and what is the stall speed in the usual configuration, MTOW, full flap etc?

Regards

Carl:welcome:

OK here it is , on our demo flights we are not on MTOW and we may pull up the nose. The CASA requirment for certificatian is that the aircraft is still under control at the minium speed , not stalled and nose falling.

The stall speed to CASA requirments is 32kts with flap and 37kts clean at MTOW

the ASI at times shows lower speeds than this, because of the lower weight and pulling up the nose.

Thanks Garry, that makes sense. For practical purposes it is probably more important that the aircraft is so forgiving around the stall - impressive from all accounts.

I've been an aviation tragic for over thirty or so years and flown thousands of hours in a lot of varied aircraft...It comes as no surprise to those who know me, that it takes a lot to impress me when a new aircraft comes along...From what I have seen with these aircraft and what Ive read (yet to fly it) very impressive and well done guys:thumb_up:

Hi Gary, Your aircraft look real nice, and I have been behind them from day one. I recently spoke to your Structural man from Sydney and he sounded like a friendly and knowledgable gentleman. I was actually in Taree a couple of months ago enroute to the Hunter Vally. I had every intention of dropping by to say Hi, but ended up over at Arthurs Armours place chatting, and never did get back to see you and the factory. My apologes for that, but I will catch you next time. I was on a mission that day to make it to the Hunter Vally for a reunion dinner, so didn't have a lot of time to splurge.

I look foward to strapping on one of your aircraft in the future.

Keep up the good work and welcome to the forum.......Cheers ....Ross Millard..............Maj...024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif
