pete8862 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hi all, Just started learning, hope to buy soon. Peter
FlyingVizsla Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hi Peter, Welcome! There's been plenty of discussion about buying aircraft in the threads over the last few days. This is a great place to get advice on anything you're game to ask - I stumbled on it a few months ago while getting frustrated with an issue and I have never looked back. Hope to hear more from you - and no doubt there will be others along in a few minutes with a welcome. Where are you learning, and what are you learning on? Sue
dazza 38 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hi Pete, Welcome mate, i hope you enjoy your flying training journey.Cheers
bacchus Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Hi Peter , The site has helped me immensely as a newish pilot as I am sure it will you , many hours of experience to draw upon from a great lot of guys ( generic term ) Take Care
BecM Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Morning Peter, Good to see another newbie saying hi, What are you learning to fly in? How is it going? Have fun and fly safe Bec
pete8862 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Thanks to all, I am learning in a Lightwing, just had lesson 2, so far so good. Looking for something like a Savannah, I will be flying to & from Fraser Is. each week so there is a few things I have to take into account ie, cruise speed, land on rough air strips Pete
Just H Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Welcome mate! I only lobbed up on this forum a few weeks ago, and have to say that its a friendly lot 'round here :)
Guest Walter Buschor Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Hi Peter, good to hear from you. You said that you'll be flying to Fraser Island often. The Savvy is really good for that as I have done it a few times. The jab takes a LOT longer for take-off on the soft runway. Whatever plane you end up buying is not important at this point, just enjoy the flying. Another thing to consider and I have said it before is hangar space. There is nothing worse than having your new pride and joy and no where to put it. fly safe Walter
pete8862 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Thanks Walter, I will have hanger space down here but at fraser I will be exposed to the weather, I think I will have to get some sort of slip on cover made. Peter
DAVID SEE Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Hi Pete. Great to hear of anyone flying but even better from someone starting out. Congratulations on joining the flying group of people from all around the country. You have Coominya as your strip, is that John and Lindas place? if it is, say hi from me please. Cheers Davo.
pete8862 Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Thanks for the welcome, & yes it is Johns place he has been very helpful, I see you have a lightwing are you happy with it & do you know of any for sale? Peter
