bacchus Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 For 6 months or more I have been compiling information from this site to assist in the purchase of an aircraft. Today the bullet was bit so to speak , deposit paid , and hope to fly her back in the next week ( weather permitting ) from Vic. For those who have assisted me and may be interested 24-4629 Allegro 2000 was the final decision 97 hrs from new on Rotax 912ULS , BRS to make the trouble and strife feel a little safer. Thanks again for all the help ( this site is a beauty ) and Clear Prop had the best prices on EPIRB , Nav Software and Headsets , to boot !!
Guest davidh10 Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Congratulations Bacchus. Now that you've joined the ranks of the poor aircraft owners, you may have to drink a bit more cheap wine:yuk:

blueshed Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Good on Ya, do drop into Jamestown for a Cuppa! Did you buy a Hangar as well? or do the wings fold and you can put her in the trailer!?
bacchus Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 " Good on Ya, do drop into Jamestown for a Cuppa! Did you buy a Hangar as well? or do the wings fold and you can put her in the trailer!? " No folding wings Blueshed , Change in super fund this week , then hangar on the way all being equal , until then pulling favours here and there. Ron Hoey ( Forum member , Savannah builder and pilot from around my way ) is accompanying me to Kyabram this Sunday then fly her home on Monday weather permitting and she will live with Ron's Savvy for a few weeks ( thanks to another aviator with a big heart ) good time to point out the help forthcoming from all directions and how a common interest like aviation brings everyone together ( Pat on the back all !! a great lot ! )
markendee Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 What a bummer! Would have loved to show you guys some Kyabram hospitality but have to be in Melbourne for a wedding Saturday night. Cannot believe we fly around around every weekend seeing our usual mates and haunts and the one weekend something exciting happens I'm not here. Sorry to miss you, hope Neil's Allegro serves you well. Mark D
bacchus Posted July 1, 2010 Author Posted July 1, 2010 Very nice thought Mark She will probably want to fly back home at some stage for a visit so maybe then:thumb_up: Yes Neil seems like a great bloke as well.
blueshed Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Good Stuff, Know Ron (Hi !) haven't seen him for a while though, great to see all is coming together. Plane Party, Hangar Party, spose you will fit some flying in there somewhere!
Guest Maj Millard Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Nice decision Bacchus, that 912 with those hours on it would barely be run in!. Don't fiddle with that engine, an oil change every 50, a filter at 100 and a new set of plugs now and then. Fly the ring off it, and it'll just keep getting better. And do not spin the engine over with the plugs out, or caps disconnected, or you will fry the ign system. Enjoy, it's looks like it would be a pleasure to fly...........................................................................Maj...
bacchus Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Bl:censored:dy Fog !! Drove to Kyabram for weekend to pick up aeroplane Were treated to a pea souper. Maybe next weekend. Thanks Ron for making trip Pic at 11.30 am 3 Degrees C
blueshed Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Maj was just reading your advice to Bacchus, wondering what causes the ignition sys to fry!? Most interesting awaiting with baited breath!
markendee Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Bl:censored:dy Fog !!Drove to Kyabram for weekend to pick up aeroplane Were treated to a pea souper. Maybe next weekend. Thanks Ron for making trip Pic at 11.30 am 3 Degrees C I must be thinking like a flyer - I was trying to figure out the meaning of Ron being 'pilot in charge' at 11.30 am in connection with the photo. Fingers crossed for next weekend. Kyabram weather forecast, Bureau of Meteorology Warnings & rainfall Hope to see you. Mark D
