Tomo Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Quoted from Mr Dunlop from the other thread. Just letting everyone know that part of the star line up in the air display will be the RAAF Roulettes and Tony Blair in his Rebel 300 as well as handling demonstrations of everything from hanggliders to warbirds. Outside of the display times, joyflight and TIFs will be available. Details of these will be on our website shortly. Hot air balloon rides as well as joyrides and TIFs will be able to be prebooked on the website early next week. see you all there

Scottw Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 G'day Dunlop mate only days to go now, how are things shaping up. just letting you know I'll be there Saturday Morning I assume you got my email and looking forward to it. Weather is looking good for it too. hopefully those showers they predict for Friday pass through a little earlier. i'll give you a bell in the next day or two Regards Scott
Ballpoint 246niner Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 G'Day guys, also looking forward to Saturday. Coming via Boonah to complete some time in the Cub first so should be there by 10am. I see no current applicable notams yet on NAIPS for YBOK at this stage. It's generally not active on weekends but was wondering if a NOTAM was applied for in relation to transiting traffic? Or is it just check ATIS as usual and remain 5nm or above 3500?
dunlopdangler Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Yep...getting close now,,,only another 4 more sleeps:loopy: weather should be OK leading up to Saturday as well (I hope) Will be out there for the rest of the week setting things up. Ballpoint, there is a notam about airspace closure between 10:55 and 11:30 for the RAAF Roulettes display..between 10:00am and 10:45 there will be flypasts etc happening, but arriving aircraft will be easily accomodated, just do the usual inbound calls and adjust your arrival accordingly, the duty runway with the predicted weather will be 31. ground marshalling will be happening with a "follow me sign" just let them know if you are overnighting (camping). As far as Oakey is concerned, it should be "zulu" status, but check just in case. see you out here:big_grin:
Tomo Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Yep, can't wait! A brief program for the day here.
wanabigaplane Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Inbound Inbound Friday from Tumut. Looks like the weather might let me through. Jack.

MrH Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Was a great day Had a terrific time at Dalby, :score 009:though the overnight camping was a tad cold!!! Was great to meet up with Tomo & Ballpoint. I agree the Cub is a shmick aircraft. Sadly I didn't catch up with Dunlopdangler who was obviously trying to work things around a very damp area & when I contacted him Friday I think they had a few weather concerns. Well done to all the organisers on handling the unexpected wet grounds, all was good though on the day. In fact the weather was spectacular today after the previous miserable wet day! Thanks Tomo for trying to fit me into a Drifter flight but my itchy home going feet took over after 8+ weeks away. Also a quick thankyou to Maj Millard who spent a day occupying me when I was coming through Townsville. I really enjoyed it. Cheers H
dunlopdangler Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Sorry, I missed you H, I seemed to have had a few issues always to sort out to stay in front of things...but did see your camp set up with the others as wth Pete with his bike and swag, hope the hot showers worked well for you and hope to actually catch up with you next time...and thanks for coming, makes the effort worthwhile:big_grin:
