Guest ozzie Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Just reading in the news section of the high fees being imposed on pilots at a airfield in Queensland. seems that with the high membership of the RAAus, they would possibly have a bit of political clout or at least the board could present a prepared statement on the benifits to a community's commerce by not chargeing over the top fees. seems that in the political arena we are lacking a bit of punch from our fearless leaders.
Relfy Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 This has a big impact on recreational aviation on the Fraser Coast. We should all now voice our concerns to the Fraser Coast Regional Council, a council that charges above average fees for everything! I will be emailing them direct expressing my disgust at this fee and if anyone else can then please do so, it will send a message that we will not visit and spend our dollars in the town and that other airports are moving away from fees to promote people visiting. The Fraser Coast is a tourist area, which makes this decision all the more disgusting. Let the council know at this address: Complaint - frasercoast and /or email at: [email protected] story here: Recreational Flying - News Reader
c722352 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Maybe its time for members to run for local councils, Its not the best job in the world and yes who the hell would want it. But there are members out there who are a bit nuts, and up for the challenge.
turboplanner Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Here's a slight flicker of action (can't get it to come up on new posts.) http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/general-discussion/99192-council-bureaucrats-building-brick-walls-2.html#post208007
