Hi guys, I heard on the radio this morning that a "light aircraft" flipped over on landing at Bundaberg.

Checked papers and internet no luck...anyone hear anything???

There is no reports on any of the written news sites but it was reported on Brisbane TV 9 news as a new Jabiru that flipped over on landing at Bundaberg with no injuries and minimal damage

I can understand 'no injuries' but how do you flip an aircraft over with 'minimal damage'. Obviously, whoever writes that sort of stuff doesn't have to pay the repair bill.

You can flip a Jabiru over with very little damage. We have a flyer in this area nickname of "Flipper", who is reputed to have flipped his Jab on the beach while trying to take off. He got hold of another prop, pulled it back over onto it's wheels and flew it out. He told me the story and I believe him.

Many years ago I have seen a flipped over Jab after nosing into a plowed paddock. It landed on its back about 50 metres from point of impact. Pax knocked out cold, pilot walked away and called for assistance. Plane back in the air after a few repairs within a 3 week timeframe. Dont ask me who or where this happened as I will be shot!!!
