I have decided go to Oshkosh this year and was wondering if there is

some where the other Aussies meet up?

I am going to camp there and am really interested in seeing the electric

powered aircraft that will be on display.

Theres an International Visitor's tent adjacent to the main contol tower thats manned (Ladied?) every day by volunteers of a couple of dozen countries where you can meet up with other folk from your home bailiwick. There is also a large notice board there segregated into nationalities where anybody can post a message for lost friends or 'meet ups'. Last year on the final day of Oshkosh, the Int'l Visitors staff laid on a free BBQ/beer session for anyone who had visited their facility during the week. Free bus transport back to the camping area afterwards with a bellyfull of beef & brew was hospitality that was hard to beat. Over all, if you don't leave Oshkosh totally exhausted, then you haven't done it right! Have fun.

Steve you are going to have a ball. i've been following the elec aircraft for some years now, so lots of photos and notes posted here on what is happening be apprecitated. there is a large forum organised with a few top designers speaking on the future of electric flight. fly an Aussie flag over your tent and leave a note pad and pen. i found a few notes from other Aussies on my tent. sewing a small flag patch on your daypak will help identify you. if you haven't been before prepare for a life changing experience.

Thanks for the info Guys.

No I haven't been before so I will take your advice. I am really getting excited now I have booked my tickets.

I will be borrowing my daughters SLR camera to take as many photos as I can. I really feel electric aircraft have a bright future in

recreational aviation. Must admit with my back ground as an Instrument Technician I feel more comfortable working with electrics.

Hope to catch up with any fellow forum members while I'm there.

If you haven't already, make sure you join the EAA you will get all sorts of discounts. down load the maps from the airventure site so you can plot out your plan of action. grab a little radio for about 15 bucks so you can listen to the tower or the eaa radio. you can pick the eaa radio up on AM or FM in the car. grab the daily airshow newspaper when you grab your morning coffee for days events. Museum and the EAA store have the best air con. keep a eye on the weather.

Steve you will have a ball and be very tiered every day from walking and walking and walking.

It took us two trips to see it all properly. The international tent also puts on a march on the last Friday I think. It is good to participate in this as there are thousands of international visitors there.

There will be a lot of OZ staying at the uni and some hang out the little pub behind the main building. I wish I could make it again this year but went to Sun + Fun instead.

Take an extra suit case to bring back all of the bargains.
