Brich Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 G'day all. Just got a reminder that the site was renovated and that I have not introduced myself. I live in the Riverina and have just finished building a Skydart 2-S. First flight 1/7/2010. I hope I get to meet some of you people face to face around the traps. Brett
Neil_S Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Hi Brett, Hope you enjoy the site. Tell us some more about your new plane! How long did it take to build? What sort of range does it have? etc etc. Cheers Neil
dazza 38 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Welcome Brett, nice looking machine there mate.I hope you enjoy it here.
Brich Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 G'day Neil Thanks for the welcome. I have only flown 2 hours in it last weekend as it is still at Wedderburn till we can do the mandatory 25hrs. I started to buy the bits about seven years ago and as time and money permitted I struggled on with it. (A case of starting stuff you’re not sure you can finish) Our last baby left home this year and we decided this was the year to spend time and money and get it done. Stats so far. One up climb rate of 11 to 12 hundred fpm, Fast cruise 90 knots. I was just poking around between 75 and 80 knots on 4500rpm + or - 100 revs. I thought that was very relaxed and cut the fuel burn back heaps. I still have the top wing strut fairings to fit and that will improve things a bit. We did the final assembly and inspection at Wedderburn so that is where we are testing it. I would love to be doing it out here in the west, I find testing my new plane there quite intense. Big timber all around with gullies and closely settled. Cheers Brett
