Guest davidh10 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I recently posted a nearly identical thread for Firefox. If you need instructions for Firefox click here. The process is very similar in the Google Chrome web browser. Unfortunately, my installation already had settings for British English when the installation completed, so it is difficult to know whether the browser may need to download a new language dictionary. I haven't included those steps in this method, but you can look at the Firefox method if needed. This method applies to Version 5.0.375.125 (current as at the posting date). To determine your version, click the Spanner icon at the right side of the toolbar and then select the "About Google Chrome" item. Method Open Google Chrome. Click the Spanner icon at the right side of the toolbar and then select the "Options" item on the resulting drop-down menu. Select the "Under the Bonnet" tab. Scroll down to the "Web Content" section. Click the "Change Font and language settings" button. Select the "Languages" tab. Ensure the "Check Spelling" box is ticked. Drop down the "Spell Checker Language" list and select "English (Australia)". Optional sub-process to select the preferred language of pages from servers that have pages in multiple languages: If "English (Australia)" is not listed as a choice in the language list at the top of the current dialog box, click the "Add" button Drop down the Languages menu list and find "English (Australia)" in the list of available languages. Select it and click the "OK" button. Use the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons together with selecting languages in the language list that should now contain "English (Australia)", so that it is at the top of the list. [*]Click the "OK" button. [*]Click the "Close" button. You're done.
