samuell Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Hi all,i have a noise coming though on transmission on a uhf radio .It sounds a bit like a electric fuel pump tick tick. The radio is abase set mounted in the plane with a switch to go between uhf and vhf.I was wondering about headsets, maybe aerial any other iders would great.cheers Sam
samuell Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 no i dont thanks nev, my wife told me its changed to static like noise
Guest ozzie Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Hmm, just check all the aerial lead connections are clean tight and free off corroision. same goes for headset jack plugs both the male and female. grab some contact cleaner from 'tricky dicks' turn the volume and other knobs and listen for scratchy noise ect if so give the pots a spray.
i_like_planes Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 If it's a specific sort of sound, and doesn't change a great deal, I wouldn't suspect headsets or audio connections - especially if it's in both headsets. Could be a supply related issue, does the display dim or flicker when you transmit?
samuell Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 thanks for that fellas ill check both idears out.
