Guest koorby Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Hi there, Ian has introduced me to his website and forum and I noticed some discussion here about Vista Australis (VOZ). I'm the guy who made it, mainly because I am training out of Sunbury in CT2K's and I want to put in 10 hours in the sim for every hour I fly in real-time. The FS2004 default textures were a bit US-centric, so I set about making it a real as possible. About 28,000 people have downloaded it since Christmas eve, so I think I struck a chord! If you have not downloaded it yet, give it a go - it's freeware and we have about 1,000 users on our forums who can help your with any tech issues regarding it. Hope to see you there! Our website is at http://vistaoz.org
Admin Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Welcome to the ultralight forums John! For those that use MS Flight Simulator I would strongly recomend the VOZ scenery as it does bring to life the correct scenery for flying in Oz.
greggf Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Koorby, Congratulations on VOZ, it's sensational. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Now I want to supplement your work by laying in photo-realistic scenery for my local area. I'll refer to your forums for assistance. cheers Gregg

Guest LJS Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 VOZ files Where Can I buy the files for loading into MSF 2004? Like a lot of guys ut there I will be staying with '04 for a while yet!
Ultralights Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 i know this might be a big ask, but will there be a Vista OZ for X-plane and Aple.. i have used Vista OZ when in the pc days and absolutly loved it, sadly now i have an Imac, and flight sim just doesnt work to well on the Imac, so i have to use X-plane, but the scenery is just no where near Vista OZ quality..
brothach Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Great job on VOZ!! I have the FS9 and FSX versions and have to say the FS9 is fantastic. The FSX is still in its infancy and I cant wait to see where it goes after a few upgrades. Next is to get a PC that runs it to my satisfaction!! I'm glad to hear someone else is simming to train, not just for fun. You may have read my post on simming relevance, and to hear the VOZ author is cool with it it encouraging. Keep up the good work mate and thanx again. Brothach
Yenn Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 LJS You could try ausgamers.com.au. I found them on Google and they have a free download of Vista-OZ. I tried to download it for my own use but it was too big and failed. You may have more luck.
Guest orbx Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Hi guys, John "koorby" Venema here, founder of VOZ and now running Orbx Simulation Systems (http://orbxsystems.com) The team who made VOZ has now released two regions for Australia for FSX. The product is called "Full Terrain Experience" (FTX) and provides for 16x the detail that we had in VOZ. The FTX website is here: http://ftxnow.com We have released two regions thus far: FTX AU BLUE (Gosford to Hobart and W to Perth) and FTX AU GOLD (Newcastle up to Gladstone). We are working on AU GREEN (Rockhampton up to PNG and across to Broome) and finally AU RED will cover the outback. There's a bunch of videos on our YouTube channel here: http://au.youtube.com/user/orbxtube
