Wow. Thats a great story told by the guys involved. I wouldn't have guessed a best glide of 165 kts for that acft.

 

A good outcome, could have ended up much worse.

Buy that pilot and a controller a beer, he was one cool customer considering he was imc at times.

 

I'd fly anywhere with him as my pilot.

 

Great to see a good out come for him and great to see make it for not only himself but for his family and the controller as well.

that would have been an experience! It goes to say that having all that teckie voodoo in the cockpit of a high performance aircraft comes into full play in situations like that. The change in the pilots tone when he broke thru and found plenty of places to put it down. hose clamp not done up. oops
