Guest Jakey Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Video from a camera attached to a weather balloon that rose into the upper stratosphere and recorded the blackness of space. Pretty dang slick. <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/15091562" width="400" frameborder="0" height="225"></iframe>.
eightyknots Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 That's a fantastic achievement. Now for the next instalment, wait for the headline: "Recreational Flyer reaches Space in Homemade Spacecraft and Parachutes to Earth"
Spin Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Thanks for posting that, pretty fascinating stuff. Now I wonder what it would have cost NASA to achieve a similar result? Seems I going to have to get me one of these little cameras, I've really enjoyed Ultralight's various videos made using one - just wish I'd had one years ago when I was more bulletproof and did lots of white water kayaking, paragliding, offroad racing etc.
Acky Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 It's happening in SA too I know some guys doing it here in SA too. last baloon reached 116,000' ft i believe. Project Horus
