Tomo Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Must be my feministic side coming out, but after hearing this girl sing... you'll understand why! She's 9 here
Deskpilot Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Have to agree Tomo. There are so many absolutely gifted kids out there, but what becomes of them. We seldom hear of them again. I'm not talking about winners of 'Adult Comps', but youngsters like Jakie. Search the web and you'll find 3yo guitarists, violinists and pianists. Singers start at about 8. What happens to them? Do they burn out? Are they pushed too hard by their parent who can only see the almighty dollar? Let's hope that they can handle the 'fame' and don't end up like Micheal Jackson.
Guest Maj Millard Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Daughter kelly (now 16) has been singing with the choir since starting primary school. Each year the high school puts on a big variety show at the local Civic theater. She did a solo spot this year and nobody in the crowd was more proud than Mum and Dad. One of her friends is operatic trained, and is just spine-tingling to listen to singing solo. She has just got a spot in West side story, with the local choral Society. Daughter, who also doesn't mind a run in the Lightwing now and then, also sings in the shower where she, like her dad, does some of her best singing ! She's been singing now for about ten years and obviously really enjoys it. I think (and hope) she'll be singing for the rest of her life ...There sure is a lot of young talent out there..........................Maj...
