When the ERSA gets updated every few months, is there anywhere where it's listed which pages have been updated? Like a list of which airfield pages have been updated so you can print those pages and stick them in the old ERSA?

Or do you have to buy a new one each time and just hope that they've made a bigger change than just correcting spelling mistakes?

i don't think so.

When you have an amendable document, you get a copies of the amendments and a CHECKLIST of all the current pages. There may be manuscript amendments also. The user signs that they are done.

ERSA is thrown away and replaced. What I don't get is the need to carry the whole document instead of the ones you would expect to use.

You only require notams for the place(s) that you mIght go to, and they can be copies.

No Darky, the ERSA is amended by complete replacement and there are no change bars at the side.

The quick way to check the currency of a particular aerodrome, if you do not have the latest version, is on the Airservices website.

There ARE change bars at the side. Unfortunately, it is a requirement to have a current ERSA on board.

The current (and next) ERSA is available on line at

Airservices Australia - Aeronautical Information Package (AIP)

All the other required docs e.g. AIP (except possibly maps) are also available on line.

If you have your iPad or laptop on board (and a wireless connection or previously downloaded copy) does that satisfy the requirement?

DAP pages have the change date against them on the Airservices web site, but not anything else from memory.

I grab the ones I need electronically and at the new ERSA date, I drag them into an archive directory and start again.
