New airfeild for Gatton area

Can anyone shed some light on the new airfeild that has been approved at Lake Carendon near Gatton

Sorry no, but break out the champagne, a new airfield in the face of the closures and threatened closures is something to celebrate.

just been talking to a bloke at gatton its going to be sealed strip and the club there is all go with fuel and canteen on the strip some 50 od planes there this is brilant beating gov bungleing

 

when will shires wake up that rec and ga flyer is is putting money into the town from their airfields

I know of an airpark being planned for Silverdale, beside the Cunningham Hwy near Warrill View and Mount Walker.

If this true it is good news. It would seem the only way to secure our airfields is if we own them!!!

Mayor of the Lockyer Valley Regional Council (Gatton) is also pushing for another major airport in the region...and talking about airparks, Gatton Airpark has released another section of house blocks, I called in there the other day and I must congratulate those involved.

This was on win news tonight in relation to the terrible flash floods in january, seems the helos had to fly some distance to refuel, mayor was pushing for it.
