foxy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 well done pete...fly high on the elation of achieving that accomplishment... (pardon the pun!!!) liz
Scooby Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 On Ya, Pete! Landings do come in handy! Well done buddy!
pilotdave69 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Well done, its such a good feeling when they feel right!
pete8862 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 I just did some more landing today, not to bad, funny that my practice engine out landings were better than the power on landings??? Pete
pilotdave69 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hi Pete, join the club, nearly all of my glides were better than powered landings.. what the big difference is, no chance of floating and getting power off and flare right, well thats what i think anyway. Each time i had to do forced landings, touch downs were unreal. Strange hey.. Wonder how many people are the same! I have nailed the powered landings now, but at the beginning, thought was strange. My instructor is also a gilder pilot, we did many glides in the Jab 160.. What are you flying ? Dave
Guest davidh10 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Onya Pete. Its a really good feeling when you are happy with your landings and can do it consistently. Took me a bit longer than I though it would to get it right. Don't believe that you can't balloon on a glide approach.. I've done it :ah_oh:
facthunter Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Landings. I'll undertake to let you know WHEN I have "Nailed" my landings. Nev
foxy Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I'll undertake to let you know WHEN I have "Nailed" my landings. Nev lol, nev. the one thing i always am aware of, is that regardless of how many hours you have flown, or in how many different aircraft, every time you get up in the air, it is a learning experience. there is always something new to figure out, or a better way for each person to approach an aspect of flying. liz
facthunter Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Landings. I'd rather have a "fair" one that was controlled all the way through than a "squeeker" that was a bit of a fluke. ( No inference on the other landings here ). People do take a lot of notice of the landing. It is only one part of flying. Nev
pete8862 Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Gee Guys, Thanks for busting my bubble, I was happy with before. Peter
