An old acquaintance of mine who helped me build my Jab sent me some pics of his latest project:

He calling it the Avocet and it had a wow factor when I first seen the photos. Have a look at the rear doors, what do they remind you of?

Mike has used the Jabiru 250 wings and the 3300 engine. I like the gull wing doors.

He is talking about getting it to Temora next Easter so maybe I will see it in then, looking forward to it.011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

I dont know Mike, hang in there you may be suprised and get some great feed back.

But you have a few questions to go on with ie thrust drag / line issues, checking the oil?

I have placed a float sensor in the sump x 2 one set at 2 lts. and the 2nd at 500 mlt so that will reduce the frequency of top UPS ,.checking the level before each flight is done using the ladder type step that also doubles as a ramp for loading the motor bike.

its going to be an amphibious craft at stage three ,after the retractable undercarage is designed(got any light weight designs lying around? ) l have balanced the forces with careful and calculus positioning of the engine thrustline &c/g ,tail incidence, ect, ect, and the fuse will contribute to lift in front of c/p of wings.(building is a compromise, theres no ware else to put the motor, and keep the weight down to 328 kgs empty.) When l started the idea we were all expecting 760kg. Weight increase to happen .Mike.

We have a good design for a contra rotating prop hub that we will develop ,that will allow two 35 ins. Dia props which will place the engine bulk lower, but even in its current configuration the vertical c/ g is at head height.
