Guest davehw Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Round Wing Ultralight HAVE A LOOK AT THIS !! Has anyone seen one of these in action. Must say I have never seen one before. cheers, Dave.
sfGnome Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The wings (struts?) that support the circular wing seem to have a very high angle of attack compared to the circular wing itself. Should be good for a few UFO sightings though. :)
Guest eland2705 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Gnome, without knowing too much about it, I would suggest that the "struts/wings" would be all flying, and the trailing edge works like flaperons/trim tabs. Just guessing here.
Deskpilot Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I LIKE IT, good to see that there are others that want something different. Seeing as it's sitting in it's flying attitude, I suggest that the 'stuts' are infact a normal V tail with a rearward sweep and the controls are elevons. The top section of the wing is either removable (likely) or pivotal from it's leading edge (unlikely). It's a pity there's no indication of it's power plant or prop, if it has one. Looking at the grass area around it, it has certainly caused a lot of admirers or critics to circle it, but over what period? It doesn't appear to be tied down so could be that grass disappeared on one day at a very crowded show.
jetboy Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 saw it at Oshkosh one year, only on display, along with the facetmobile. a bit similar to the ligeti Ligeti Stratos
