Guest burbles1 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 A TV show I saw many years ago recently came to mind when we had a thread about "is regulation killing adventure". The film was about a European pilot's quest to find a young girl in the Middle East who wanted to be a pilot. I can't recall the nationality of the pilot - perhaps Danish, Dutch, Norwegian. She heard about a teenage girl (in Iran or Iraq?) who wanted to fly. The pilot was so stirred to fulfil this girl's dream, she started a one-year adventure to fly in her Piper Cub to the Middle East and offer to take the girl up. It was an amazing story, with the pilot climbing to over 11000 ft to clear snow-capped mountains, deliberately defying authorities and refusing to answer radio broadcasts from officials so she could get there. The pilot ended up rallying the support of two women military pilots to meet with the girl and urge her to follow her dreams. I would love to try finding this on the web somewhere - anyone ever seen this?
