I have wondered this since im almost licensed with Pilot Cert, can we and are we allowed to fly as Licensed if CFI has passed the student, or must we wait to get license back from RAA AUS?

A friend recently received his Pilot Cert, took 2 weeks to get back in mail.

Hope someone can answer this ?

Thanks

Dave

This was answered in another thread a while back.

The answer was you don't need the plastic, but you aren't actually licenced / registerd with the endorsement until the RAA Operations Manager has approved it. ( This is specified in the RAA Ops Manual.) The CFI is submitting paperwork that recommends approval.

The advice was to phone RAA office and enquire. Should be processed within a few days, even if the issue takes longer.

It goes without saying that you need the PAX endorsement on top of the Pilot Certificate and three takeoffs and landings in the last 90 days as PIC to carry a passenger.

And I wouldn't rush to get confirmation from RA-Aus. I got my PAX in January and a new plastic card came through the mail in about a week. The office is pretty quick.

hey dave,

if you have passed the test, you can ask raaus to email your confirmation letter of the endorsement, and fly with that, even without the card. so long as you have something to say that you are actually licensed to carry with you.

Thanks for all the info everyone, really helpful. I have done all necessary tests and Pax tests, flying etc, only have BAK to do this week and all ready to go. Bring it on!

I would suggest that as long as your CFI has put a notation in your log book, you're ok to go solo as PIC. No PAX until all rules and conditions are implemented and completed.

Just re-read your post, IF you have passed the PAX training satisfactorily, AND your CFI has notated you log book, then OK.

I thought the BAK was a pre-requisite for the test?

Correct
