winsor68 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 A recent post got me thinking about Edmund Schneider... the GRUNAU BABY was one of his earliest contributions to recreational flying. It is amazing to think that 20 or so years after this aircraft first appeared he moved to Australia and continued to design so many more wonderful aircraft... Truly an amazing Aviation Story with an Aussie twist. This was recreational flying the way it used to be... This is interesting... A link to an account of the test flights, first aeros and flying a group of Grunau's with small engines to airshows in Germany in the 30's. This site has some good info on the Grunau design.
