Guest rocketdriver
Has anyone got photos / info regarding succesful subaru motor cooling installations. I have just taken delivery from Canada of a KR2 with a Subaru motor which has a rather innefective looking radiator installation under the belly .... its parallel to the airflow mounted about 25mm off the belly skin ..... Cheers RD
Guest Baphomet
It may be far more effective than it looks. My aircraft has a similar configuration, and it works very well. That layout has the advantage of a small frontal area, and as long as the ducting works, it should be fine. Baph
Guest rocketdriver
Hi Dexter and Baph No ducting, just a sheet metal frame closed on the sides, open bottom, front and rear.. The water pipes run under the fuse to the radiator which is mounted about 25 mm off the skin and parallel to it. It would be nice to see a sketch / photo of the Avid installation and yours too Baph ...... Regards RD

Guest rocketdriver
Thanks Dexter ....Very reassuring as it is very similar to my set up except possibly a bit more angled into the airstream than mine. We will see ...... I reckon I'm about 6 weeks from 1st engine run and taxiing tests ....
