Sad news for aviators. George Creed lost his battle with cancer and there will be a service for him at Old Station on Friday at 11am.

George owned Old Station and hosted many Old Station airshows and fly ins. He was committed to flying and had recently bought a helicopter for use on the property. He is survived by Leonie, Ronnie, Andrew and Elizabeth and grandchildren. He was Mayor of Calliope Shire and then Mayor of the Gladstone Area Council, when 3 councils were amalgamated.

There will be many on this forum who will remember him, and his explosive pranks whenever there was a quiet moment ot those Old Station get togethers.

Never knew George but had heard of him. Always sad to loose a good mate and fellow aviator.

Condolenses to the family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of George Creed. A big man with a kind heart. He certainly took care of all the visiting flyers at his great Old Station fly-ins. Condolences to Lonnie and family, and all his staff and friends there at Raglan.

The hospitality that George, Lonnie, and crew offered to all, at those fly-ins, is fondly remembered by all who attended.

And yes Yenn, those explosive pranks at night were definetly one of the highlights!!.

George Creed will be missed by many of his fellow aviators. RIP .

We had one of those explosive pranks at the funeral. Right in the middle of the eulogy and another as the hearse pulled away. We could practically hear his chuckle.
