Guest fillerup Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Hello all. I thought that it was about time that I made an effort to post something on your great site. I am told that I fit the typical RAA pilot, in that I am the average age for joining RAA (over 45), ex GA, and looking for some easier and cheaper flying. I do think that the modern aircraft in RA are a great step forward from the 1970s fleet that I once flew. Although I had not flown for many years I found the transition good. These are great little planes that get good speed from those 100 horses, with very low fuel burn. You just gotta love that. As I go forward I would like to think that there is the perfect plane out there for me. One that takes off and lands in 50 metres, does 150 knots on 20lt hr, and can carry 2 pax full fuel, some baggage and maybe the dog, have a range of say 600 nm. I would like longer range but I think that the wife would choke me if I tried to push to far in one leg. Any way I look forward to meeting you out there some place soon. Safe flying

Seriously though, with the range of aircraft now available comes the options that weren`t there back in the seventies. Frank.
