Russ Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Approaching aircraft from behind me.............i don't see. left/right/ahead no probs........( we hope ). Toying with setting up a high powered LED, pulsating off/on ( 5 sec intervals )............easily done. Was now thinking colour of LED........can get red, white, glacier blue......all bright as. So anyone got experience with great standout colour, distance wise in the air.......( stands out like the proverbial ) Have conventional strobe, but in certain lights, they are pretty ordinary.
sain Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I'd use standard nav light colours, so people who can figure out what direction they are approaching you from.
Yenn Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 For a rear facing light go with white, it is the correct colour plus white will alwahs stand out better. The most likely place to be overtaken with a risk of collision is in the circuit and white will probably be against a ground background.
