Admin Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 To all RAAus Members The Treasurer Dave Caban has been replaced with the North Queensland Board Representative Steven Runciman. Steve is a member of this site and on a daily basis manages financial affairs with the Army so he brings to the role a wealth of experience and knowledge. The Treasure's position is also a member of the Executive.
Guest Maj Millard Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Christ your giving him all our money !!!!!!......................no really...well done Steve..........................Maj..I mean Maj...
facthunter Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 treasurer. Good on you for taking the job Steve. Hope it all works out for you and us. Nev
David F Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 new Treasurer Do we know why we have a new person in this position? Did Mr Caban resign or was he terminated if so for what reason. I /we the membership need to be kept informed of the actions of the executive.I would have expected a statement in the magazine but no just the usual irrelevant semi joking rubbish. I suspect a jobs for the boys culture has infected our organization and as no one is looking they have free rein to dish out pay rises and financial incentives as they see fit. Hopefully my suspicions will be proved incorrect and in the future financial details will be available to the membership. I would also like to see some strategic direction from our CEO and progress or lack of reported in his column. Honestly I could write a third A4 column and say nothing. Dave
Guest Maj Millard Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Spoke to Steve yesterday re: his new position. Appears at the last AGM the financial report presented by the former treasurer, just didn't balance, and Steve being a new board member, (for NQld) took him to task on this. He tells me that there hasn't been an offical budget presented for this financial year either. Steve was appointed new treasurer at that board meeting, that's all I know. Steve is aware that there are some items being kept in the dark, from members, and he is commited to changes, for the members benifit. He likes the idea of some change, and he is on our side, and is a forum member. One thing he wants to do is present a treasurers report at least twice yearly, in the magazine. Steve has also offered up some other interesting info to me , but in all fairness to him I will keep it close to my chest at the moment. Steve is the right bloke for the job, and we can trust him to do what he says. He has my full support both as treasurer, and NQld board rep...........................................................................................................................maj...
