Guest ozzie Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 So this is what mountains are really for. breathtaking footage.
Spin Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 :man flying::man flying:phew a couple of those sequences of them crossing over ridges had me lifting my backside off the chair, trying to help them over! Fantastic photography, but man-o-man the "sudden stop" if they miscalculate would be messy.
facthunter Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 aerodynamics. Impressive, but I would like a bit more lift capability IF I flew OVER something. What is the glide angle? It would have to be only about 45 degrees. You are as much falling as flying. Nev
Guest ozzie Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 glide angle is better than 3 to 1. Decent speed at around 80 mph, horizontal speed around 110mph. This is the early days of the sport will be interesting to see the progression in wing suit design over the next few years. I plan on doing a wing suit course next year but from aircraft only. Proximity flying looks tempting but i think that climbing up those damm mountains would be the death of me, not the jumping off them.
Deskpilot Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 He saw the wire running across his path. Did you?
Guest ozzie Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Marked by the tower on the cliff edge. Looks like a heavy cable. After you watch it a few times you can pick the trimming of the wing especially as he flies low over the ridge. The idea is not to catch your shadow.
