I am going to call Ra-Aus today. I will complain but will try to keep in mind that they are just doing a job. There is talk of dropping the magazine from newsagency shelves... I prefer the idea of making the magazine only available through newsagencies and making it pay for itself.

Gee with all the flooding up and down the state i'd think myself lucky if the milk turned up each morning. I don't think the RAAus is to blame here. The mag is printed and mailed out by a commercial mailing company then delivered by Aus Post under the conditions of the publication catagory.

People who regularly get the mag late would benifit from an online version. My EAA Sport Pilot Mag is always on time online.

Still no magazines for us (we get 2 as we are both members). Have checked the PO Box and the letter box. We were cut off from all towns, but now the highway is open all the way to Rockhampton - they get their flood peak today - but no mag for us.

Mine arrived today... I checked the mail with the phone in my hand preparing to call Ra-Aus and enquire and it was here.

I understand there is flooding at the moment... what I couldn't understand is why the other members I saw last Wednesday at the local field had theirs and mine still hadn't been delivered.

It is a pain seeing the mag on the News agency shelves by the 6th of every month while I have never received my mag before the 17th. Like I said I would prefer if Ra-Aus stopped mailing the mag and just made it pay for itself commercially. That way members still have access and the public still has too... and its good advertising.

I don't wait for my mag - I'm too busy flight planning and flying.

Still waiting! Rang RaAus yesterday, and was told "the magazines were late getting to the mailing house". Seems that where you live has a huge bearing on what you can expect from the supply chain, given that some forum members had theirs before Xmas.

I finally got my mag from the newsagent today. Only problem is I also got my birthday present from my brother. It was the ATC student pilot kit. Hmmm... What too read first???

Which one are we talking about, Dec/Jan? Are we getting blue bags? All I ever got is one of those re-usable shopping bags which I left at some airfield somewhere.

Yeah, Dec/Jan Issue.

The blue bag is like one of those re-usable shopping bags with The RA-Aus Logo on both sides. I don't know if everyone else got it.

No bag but i recieved a safety insert in the previous issue. Also a calendar with nice photos of aircraft i can't afford.

I don't get hung up about when the mag arrives - too busy enjoying myself.

Before the days of social media, and these days, this site broadly fits that category, it didn't matter that magazines were delivered in different places at different times, because you only socialised with locals who all received their magazines within a day or two at most.

Unfortunately, with the worldwide reach of Internet based social media interaction, not getting your magazine for several weeks after the first deliveries means that by the time you read the juicy articles, most people have already discussed / argued the points or items of interest or contention and have lost interest in further discussion.

It's a bit like being the last poster in a thread. 051_crying.gif.fe5d15edcc60afab3cc76b2638e7acf3.gif

Dexter I agree, although if you're really keen, the classifieds are available on the RA Aus site from the first week of the month, ie. well before the mag goes out.

Still waiting for mine incidently.
