sseeker Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Hi everyone, Just a quick note that the 2011 GYFTS (Giving Young People Flight Training Support) scholoarship applications are now open. I'm a young pilot and I'm fully qualified to the extent of a Pilot Cert with HF, HP, R, PAX, & NW. Is it possible to apply for the scholarship for endorsement training? i.e Cross Country. I've got around 8 hours cross country and it's very costly. Just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks, Andrew
Guest burbles1 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Hi Andrew, Apologies that no-one has answered your question about GYFTS. It sounds like you could be a good candidate for a scholarship to complete your flying. Firstly talk to your CFI who can support your application. You can find more details at: http://www.raa.asn.au/students/gyfts.html Best of luck!
sseeker Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 I had to actually look on the RA-Aus website, there was no promotion in WA either. I haven't ever heard or seen (on the ra-aus website) of a west aussie winning it. I think I'm going to have to apply, will get in touch with my CFI. Thanks, Andrew
Guest burbles1 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Andrew, Go for it - sounds like you fit the bill. Don't let the lack of WA entrants dissuade you. GYFTS is a great initiative that deserves to be more widely promoted. Let us know how your application and cross-country goes.
sseeker Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Thanks for your help Will let you all know Andrew
