Glassair Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Hi all, I'm new to the site and am amazed with all the information on it. It is excellent. Thanks to everyone's contributions on this active forum site, it makes it a pleasure to read with heaps of information. I'm in my early 50's, live on the Sunshine Coast and am very keen to get back into flying. I held a private licence many years ago and flew actively for 8 years and have decided its time to get back into it. I love the Glasair's, but they are expensive and am now looking at having a closer inspection of the Morgan Cheetah Sierra 100.....it looks and reads what I'm after, expecially with the 6 cyl. engine. Would like to hear from anyone with a Cheetah up this way. Many thanks for a great forum. Cheers, Ian.
Guest Maj Millard Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Welcome Ian, Yes the Cheetas are ticking a lot of boxes for a few pilots at the moment.............................................................Cheers .................Maj...

Mathew Ker Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Welcome and greetings Ian, You might consider adding the Brumby, built in Cowra, to your growing list of aircraft to source. You don't have to scratch too far to realise just how many good options there are getting around, especially good Australian designs as well. Cheers, Mathew
Glassair Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 Thankyou BlackRod, I have had a look at the website and yes it looks interesting. Will follow up during the week. Cheers, Ian.
facthunter Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Check weights. Check the basic (empty) wts on those aircraft.(all three) as well as the Max AUW for RAAus ops. LSA category at 600 kgs has a lot of disadvantages maintenance wise. The Glassair is quite heavy (but nice) Nowhere near the weights we are operating at. Nev
Glassair Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 Thank you all for your welcome replies and comments on these aircraft, it is appreciated and opens up more scope to explore. Cheers, Ian
