Guest simon bourke
Hi folks... wondering if anyone has found or knows of a brushable paint that will survive the heat on the exhaust system?
ZULU1
I have seen many exhausts sprayed with a zinc metal spray that gives very good lasting metal 'matt" finish.
Mc Guyver
The best way I have seen is to apply grease to the exhaust whilst very hot. Do this by rubbing it on with a rag. After 3 or 4 applications you (the aircraft ) have a nice black exhaust. I have seen it done on a Subaru exhaust. Works brilliantly!
pudestcon
Hi folks... wondering if anyone has found or knows of a brushable paint that will survive the heat on the exhaust system? Well it's not brushable but I have used this product. http://www.speco.com.au/Downloads/VHTCatalogue2009.pdf All the best Pud
Bluey
yeah, I can second Mc Guyver's comment about the grease. It works brilliantly. I have just recently had to do this after repairing a crack in my exhaust. Bluey
bushcaddy105
Pot Belly Stove paint - stinks when first heated, but made to cope with exhaust temperatures.

Guernsey
I have used this product for over three years on my Supa Pup exhaust. (Had it sandblasted first) Excellent results however it is an aerosol spray. Septone Products Heat Proof extra tough finish (Aluminium) looks better than black. Email [email protected] I purchase mine from Bunnings Hardware.
